American Egg Project Summary

The project involves an ESL (Extended Shelf Life) expansion at an American Egg facility.

Facility Function

The American Egg Plant processes liquid egg products. It takes shelled eggs, breaks them, and separates them into whites, yolks, or whole eggs, which are then packaged and distributed as different products.

Key Project Upgrades

The project is similar to a previous upgrade done at Carolina Egg and focuses on three main areas:
  1. Efficiency Upgrades: Improving the overall efficiency of the plant’s operations.
  2. Automation Upgrades: Implementing automated systems to streamline processes.
  3. Wastewater Reduction: A significant focus of the project is the reduction of effluent out of the plant.

Phase 1

This was an upgrade on controls, valving, new breaker installed, addition of a silo alley and 2 new silos. We also installed all new twin screw pumps and a new chill press.

Phase 2

American Egg Phase 2 is the ESL addition. That included all new fillers for gable top containers, bag in box filler, pasteurizing equipment, Aseptic tank, addition of a new silo, chiller, refrigeration, HVAC, boiler, MCC room, packaging lines, robot for pallet wrapping and stacking.
